Crystal Grand Music Theatre now under new joint ownership
Kalahari Resorts and Tommy Bartlett Inc. have become joint owners of the Crystal Grand Music Theatre in Wisconsin Dells. The partnership will enable the theatre to provide a wider variety of entertainment genres and draw a more diverse audience to the 2,000-seat venue.
The new ownership team plans to expand the scope of the theatre’s entertainment offerings to include more contemporary acts, top comedians, theatrical productions and national speakers as well as drawing in meetings and conventions business.
“The Crystal Grand has entertained thousands of guests over the years and we’re looking forward to building a new level of entertainment,” says Tom Diehl, president of Tommy Bartlett Inc.
The new team plans to make significant internal and external improvements and modifications to make the Crystal Grand a sought after entertainment destination, including the addition of food and beverage options and outlets. Most immediately, wine and beer selections will be expanded while food options will be upgraded.

FITCHBURG: To celebrate 21 years in business, InteriorLOGIC Facility Planning has donated a comprehensive schematic design to The River Food Pantry for a new building. Robin Stroebel, CEO and founder of InteriorLOGIC, said the design, valued at $4,000, provides the most efficient and productive use of space for the variety of services the 20,000 square foot building will offer. Bachmann Construction Inc. has been selected as the project contractor.
FT. ATKINSON: Spacesaver Corp., a division of KI, has acquired Waukesha-based Compact Storage Systems (CSS), a maker of industrial, heavy-duty carriage systems. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
LA CROSSE: Creative Cabinets and Millwork Inc. is celebrating its 25th anniversary by moving to a new 11,200 square-foot facility. The company specializes in commercial and institutional casework and architectural millwork, and the staff includes five experienced cabinet makers.
>> To the eye, nothing seems remarkable about the parking ramp and lobby addition at Gundersen Lutheran’s La Crosse Campus. But, what most people don’t know is that both were built keeping the environment in mind. The ramp and lobby addition were designed with many “green” qualities, and allowed Gundersen Lutheran to recently receive Silver LEED certification for the project. Some of the green design elements include: Solar panels, which help fill the energy needs of the ramp; 100-percent recycled glass flooring and countertops; environmentally friendly paint; and the recycling of construction waste on the job site to reduce local landfill impact.
MADISON: After 45,148 participants slid a total of 3,593 miles, Great Wolf Resorts Inc. has received official word from Guinness World Records that the company’s 11 Great Wolf Lodge locations set a new record for “longest distance watersliding in 24 hours in multiple venues.” On March 26-27, 2010, all Great Wolf Lodge locations participated in the 24-hour event to celebrate the opening of new waterslide attractions at three of its locations. The Great Wolf Lodge “World’s Largest Waterslide-athon” took place over 24 consecutive hours with one designated slide per resort.

VERONA: Sigma-Aldrich Corp. has opened its new SAFC cGMP Manufacturing expansion facility in Verona. Designed to significantly increase the capacity to produce commercial scale High Potency Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, the new 45,000 sq. ft. facility complements SAFC’s existing 63,000 sq. ft. HPAPI site in Madison and houses commercial scale reactors capable of producing HPAPI batch sizes up to 4,000 liters, 10 times the capacity of the Madison site. The company partnered with Madison-based Vogel Bros. Building Co. for site selection, design, process engineering and construction services.
