September 2011, From the Editor

Step up and let your success story shine

Mon, Aug 29, 2011

t’s been said that, “Some people dream of success . . . while others wake up and work hard at it.”

Deadlines are fast approaching for two CRW recognition programs. You can even nominate your own company’s success story for the awards!

CRW’s Small Business Success Stories award celebrates the fact that successful small businesses are the result of hard work, tough decisions, and good employees. We want to recognize those businesses and the people behind them who have taken an idea, a product, or a service and achieved amazing results. The details for this award can be found at www.crwmag.com. The deadline is November 30, 2011. Entering only requires a two-page statement. Thank you to sponsors UW-Oshkosh and DiRenzo and Bomier for their partnership. Winners will be announced in CRW’s April issue.

It is the fourth year for CRW’s Corporate Citizenship Awards. This award recognizes and honors companies that have set themselves apart from normal business practices. For this award, a panel of judges evaluates entries on initiatives in the areas of community, environment, and overall wellness. The nomination form, found at www.crwmag.com, will be accepted until September 15, with the winners announced at our first annual golf outing on October 6 (see page 2-3 for details).

What’s true of the lottery that “You can’t win if you don’t play” is true here as well. Both programs accept self-nominations so don’t be shy. Programs like these are important ways to tell business success stories we might otherwise be unaware of. And the awards can be important PR boosts for the winning firms. Here’s hoping your company’s story makes the cut.
